Nathalie Prevost has over 20 years training in several styles throughout her career in martial arts. She started training in PTK in 1993 with Mandala Mandatus Loki Jorgenson.  She has also trained under Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje and Tuhon Philip Gelinas through seminar sessions.  More recently, Nathalie has become the student of Mandala Maginoo Rommel Tortal, who has trained all his life with his uncle, Grand Tuhon Gaje.

In addition Nathalie holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science, the study of the mind and body connection. Cognitive Science involves the study of several disciplines including Neuro-Sciences, Biology, Physics, and Psychology. Her research has taught her that a healthy mind IS a healthy body, one cannot fully develop one without the other.  You can behave your way to success and its starts with moving your body with purpose.

Michael Gutierrez was introduced to the edged and impact weapon system of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali under Guro Nathalie Prevost, from Maelstrom Martial Arts, in early 2001. 

At the time, he was training in a close quarter empty hand combat system called Hung Jong Kuen (AKA Jong Kuen Pai) under Sifu Laurie Lowe (Since 1994).

Intrigued by the close quarter weapon tactics, footwork, and principles of Pekiti, Michael began training privately with Guro Nathalie. He soon began training under Head Guro Loki Jorgensen and Guro Edwin Tam at Maelstrom Martial Arts.

In the summer of 2005, Michael received his instructor certification in the Pekiti Tirsia System of Kali. He continues to teach and train at Maelstrom Martial Arts where he also trains Mande Muda/Harimau and Krabi Krabong. back

Our instructors include Mandatus Mandala Loki Jorgenson with whom we have been training for our respective number of years. Loki has been involved with PTK since 1989. His first 4 years of training was under Tuhon Philip Gelinas. In 1994 he founded the Mano y Baston school of PTK with a focus on Dog Brother style fighting. In 2002 Mano y Baston became Maelstrom Martial arts. Mabangis Kali is an associate of Maelstrom Martial Arts. Loki is also ranked in several other martial arts.

More recently Mandala Maginoo Rommel Tortal has taken us under his wing after our time training with him in the Philippines. He continues his tutelage from abroad. Guro Rommel has also provided the name Mabangis Kali. We appreciate his support.

We have also trained with Tuhon Philip Gelinas and Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje through seminar format. back
